Ancient Greek Building design

In this assignment we had to work on a 2D building design. Everyone got a style and building type. I got Ancient Greek and an arena. I was allowed to change arena into an amphitheater. I was quite nervous for the assignment but it turned out as I hoped.

I did a lot of research, this assignment is in 2 parts. One part is the 2D design and the other the 3D modeling. o
Here is my moodboard of Ancient Greek style.
Here is my moodboard of the arena.
The picture is in dutch. It says what is iconic of the ancient greek style. Like symmetry and arches. The buildings have a lot of detail and are very dynamic.
I started making silhouettes of the entrance of the theatre. This has to be a beautiful entrance in the style ofcourse. Theatre buildings were called a theatron. The theaters were large, open-air structures constructed on the slopes of hills. They consisted of three main elements: the orchestra, the skene, and the audience.

I searched up the god of theatre; Dionysus. He was known for grape harvest, wine, theatre and a lot more. So in one design I put a detail of Dionysus: A grape.

In that time there were three genres of drama; comedy, satyr plays, and tragedy. Because of the satyr plays I put in a satyr horn element in some designs.
I selected my favorite silhouettes and started to combine them.
I also put in more details.
After designing I couldn't choose only 1. So I went on with designing and combining 3 and 4:
I choose number 5 to draw out fully. I was 100% statisfied with the design. After feedback I put the grape in the second arch in the middle.

The left and right ovals are notches for a water bowl or a statue.
I also put in a scale by putting in a human. I made the silhouette for the top view. I wanted to look like a big arch way. The yellow lines are where the higher arches are going to be.
I'm very proud how it turned out. I never draw buildings so this was a huge challenge
for me.
The top view had less detail then the other views but I tried my best to make it as detailed as possible. Because of the roofs and smooth walls in ancient greek the top view looked very boring.
The red person indicades how big it is.

I learned a lot from this assignment and I am proud of it :)

Lets go on with the next part of this assignment:
Now it finally time to make this design in 3D. I worked with maya and sketchfab.
It was a lot of fun to make my design in 3D, I changed some little things, but you can definitely see the design come to life. I am very proud of this model.
Here you can see I used plains and put my design on it. This way I could get the scale and symmetry right
Here I made the stand, made with a cilinder.
Then I started on lining out everything.
Filled it up with the block parts
made the details:
Here are my renders, made in sketchfab. The embed link still doesn't work in behance so here is the link : https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/3d-structure-greek-amphitheatre-e4e2594615c14198abf8b2c8c8061779

This assignment was very different and fun. I had a lot of struggling during designing but it worked out. With help from teachers and friends I came up with a design that I was proud of.
Then I started on the 3D modeling. It was easy because I used my drawings on plains so I could just model over it.
The details, I did last minute because it felt very naked without.

I learned to design a building and work it out in 3D. It was very fun and I'm proud of the end work.
